Project ID: 2020-2.1.1-ED-2020-00117

Project description:

The MOL-PE Circular Economy Science Park concept aims to establish a Science and Innovation Park in Nagykanizsa and Veszprém related to the Circular Economy theme, which will create unique innovations in the global space that will significantly increase Hungary's competitiveness and even have a significant impact on the national economy.

The Circular Economy Science Park builds on the environmental technology and sustainability knowledge base of the University of Pannonia and the strategic R&D and innovation partnership of MOL. The results of the Science and Innovation Park will be tested in its immediate surroundings in the form of regional pilot projects and, following their successful implementation, will be scaled up to a national level. The ambition of the Circular Economy Science and Innovation Park is to build on MOL's strategic partnership, management and professional expertise, and international network to become the Circular Economy European Science Hub, the number one European centre for the circular economy.

The present application is the first phase of the implementation of the concept, which includes the architectural design of the Science Park sites in Veszprém and Nagykanizsa, as well as the development of the management and governance framework. In the field of R&D&I, the present planning phase focuses on target activities such as circular waste management; the investigation of the possibility of recycling waste water in enterprises; the preparation of the involvement of direct and indirect EU funding to support the Science Park's activities; the establishment of the Circular Economy Cluster, recruitment of members; the preparation of the CESP Demonstration Marketplace Strategy.
