INTENSIVE COURSES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS (IC4HEDS)
Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020
Project description:
The Intensive Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS) project, co-financed within the call of the INTERREG cross-border cooperation program Hungary - Croatia 2014-2020, represents a direct response to the most significant challenges of higher education in the program area by improving the role of educational institutions as intellectual centers and connecting them with business sector and entrepreneurial support institutions.
During twenty months, the partners will work on solving problems in the field of education in the border area - the imbalance between supply and demand on the labor market, insufficient motivation for lifelong learning, and uneven quality and access to educational programs. In the initial phase of the project, the expert teams of both higher education institutions, with the support of entrepreneurial support institutions (PPI), will work on creating a structured and formal curriculum that will be integrated into their study programs. Digital transformation and Industry 4.0 were selected as the topics of two educational programs that will be available to students of both institutions as elective courses and that, in accordance with internal rules, will carry a certain number of ECTS points. A large part of the educational materials will be available online, and in addition to classic face-to-face lectures, the programs will include new learning methods, such as project learning, learning through games, flipped classrooms, etc.
Support for higher education institutions will be provided by TICM and the business incubator from Nagykanizsa, which will serve as an important link between the education sector and the economy. The workshops will include company representatives as well as guest lecturers who, with their experience, will provide students with important information in order to navigate the labor market as easily as possible. In order to raise the level of cross-border cooperation, several study visits by students and teaching staff to educational institutions on the other side of the border will be organized during the project, where, in addition to getting to know each other, students will have the opportunity to get in touch with potential employers
As accompanying activities in the initial phase of the project, each of the partners will equip the educational spaces with modern presentation and IT equipment in order to further raise the quality of the lectures themselves. In addition, representatives of the consortium will go on a study visit to one of the institutions from the European Union that has already successfully implemented a similar model of intensive educational programs for students.
